Chemistry.com would tell us that “Match.com has done it again!”-and we would agree. With the same sexy, professional approach to layout and design, this highly navigable dating site puts you in the perfect position to meet the match of your dreams. Searching profiles is restricted-Chemistry prefers do the lining up-but the range of available singles seems to be acceptably broad. The lining up that they do is similar to Match but with a bit of a chemical twist. The opening test to create your free profile is a little long but that is true of most dating communities. The thing about this test is that it is fun. From asking you to create book names to getting your gut reaction to faces and voices, Chemistry.com has developed a great opening personality quiz.
Chemistry.com has a biological anthropologist as their chief scientific advisor, Dr. Helen Fisher. She has published several books and is the mind behind the Chemistry test. They tout her credentials all over the web site. We don’t blame them. She did well. After a new user takes the test, Chemistry gives little snippets about why some of the more obscure questions were asked. With all of this, they claim that their approach to love is scientific; when we went through the site, though, we wanted to describe it some other way. There is science involved, true, but this isn’t some sort of deeply psychoanalytical brain-flushing. This is chemical. This is Chemistry.
Chemistry is notable for how it combines complexity with simplicity. When your final profile is created, they have narrowed your answers to a balance between four simple personality indicators. By keeping that level of simplicity, they are able to offer you a more diverse range of matches. You then have the opportunity of rating your interest in those and discarding the profiles that don’t quite do it for you. When it comes to finding a keen interest in someone, however, that’s where the money comes in. Members can view photos, profiles, match, be matched, and receive a Chemistry profile analysis, but only Subscribers get access the other benefits. These include greater privacy, email, better matching, and several levels of guided communication that even includes step-by-step instructions on your first face-to-face meeting.
Because of the appeal of the Chemistry personality test, this is an online dating community that can attract singles of all levels. Age seems pretty diversified; as for experience, establishment, and professionalism of Chemistry’s clients, it seems pretty well spread across the board. Chemistry offers free transfer of your Match.com profile, and while it doesn’t have quite the same level of traffic as Match, it certainly is a viable resource for online dating.
Chemistry’s cost may be prohibitive to some, but considering the added scientific bent of their matching, the price is understandable. From what we could tell, Chemistry seems to be Match.com’s answer to eHarmony. As to how good of an answer it is-well, that’s up to you. As for us, this is a great site. Match.com definitely did it again. |
